Photo: Brunettes, Blonds and Gingers unite as Chris, Chelsey and Kayla skip their way to the next challenge. Skipping in four-inch heels? Looks like both Chelsey and Kayla are having a blond moment.
Since we're down to the top 5 model hopefuls this cycle, we'd like to refresh our initial predictions on who will score the Vogue Italia spread and become...America's Next Top Model.
While we pegged Rihanna, Lexie, and Esther to go much farther than they did, we can't say we have much beef with the top five, although there are a few surprises.

Photo: Speaking of looking innocent, Chris' skippity-doo-da shot is a little too sweet for our taste. Was it really necessary to wear pink on pink on pink (did we mention there was a lot of pink?) with a purple handbag the size of a Cocker Spaniel? Yea, not feeling it.
Chris, who we didn't really expect to make it very far, has gotten through the competition basically by being the only one with a personality during the middle few challenges where that was the focus. Now that we're on the other side of all the commercial business and have arrived in Italy, we're not so sure her pictures are refined or high fashion enough to be on top. And, to be fair, had any of the other models known how to skate backwards while talking, we're pretty sure the judges would have picked the most relatable girl as the winner, as opposed to the over-the-top cheeseball. Chris was the only one who didn't look like she was about to die. But, lest we be accused of not giving props where props are due, she obviously had the best commercial.

Photo: Liz’s keyword was “power/victory” but we see none of that here. And neither did the judges.
Liz, Liz, Liz. Our initial pick for the win had such a strong, androgynous look and we absolutely loved her fierceness and determination to win it for her daughter. Why did she have to be such a whiner?! Seriously, every challenge it was something else. "Wah, eyeliner in my eyes. Wah it's hot. Wah wah wah." We like a girl with a sense of humor who's unafraid to bitch, but Liz couldn't quite balance that with being professional. We're not really surprised she went home. If only the photographers could haved turned her on mute...

Photo: Check out Ann's photo shoots on Cycle 15 of ANTM. With so many wins this season, it's no surprise that this beauty came out on top!
While Ann surprised everyone by making it all the way to the top 5 (after, mind you, winning best picture five weeks in a row), we think her days may be numbered. While she looks painfully awkward in real life, something about it works on camera, which is great. We'll admit, she takes stunning pictures despite the fact that she looks like a dude. However, her constant crying over not winning best photo is really childish; her lamenting at the end of every episode about how she needs to be more confident followed by an episode where she's just as insecure as she was on day one is exhausting; and she's completely incapable of being social around people she doesn't know, which isn't going to cut it in the modeling world. Plus, has no one else noticed how terrible her skin is? We can't believe we haven't seen judges or makeup artists on the shoots criticizing her for it yet. Ann: you take bizarrely amazing photos, but please get it together and learn how to talk to strangers. Maybe start with a smile to replace that look of sheer terror...
Kayla has shot out of nowhere to dominate the competition. The shy, squeaky girl we met in casting has somehow found herself and is secretly totally fierce! Hang-ups about intimacy with male models aside, Kayla has somehow found a way to rock her Ronald McDonald-colored hair and takes really strong, high fashion photos. Plus, it would be amazing to see the first lesbian winner of ANTM. We really miss Kim sometimes...

Photo: It’s possible she just ended things with her “mer-man,” but someone’s definitely not looking too pleased.
Chelsey, while striking us as a little whiny in the beginning, has found some insane inner drive, and we have no doubt that she wants it the most. Having modeled for 10 years, she fears she's getting too old for the biz if she doesn't break in soon (at a decrepit 23 years old). We definitely think she's taking strong pictures, and probably has the best walk, but we don't know if she'll manage to edge out Kayla and Jane.

Photo: It looks like Jane's biggest problem as a kid was her square jaw. Oh, the horror.
Speaking of Jane, we totally called that one right. It took her a while to get the hang of it, but she managed to skate by and is now steadily progressing week by week, taking amazingly refined, strong photos. She probably has the most intriguing beauty of the girls left (before you correct us, Ann isn't intriguing, she's just weird-looking in a way that happens to be photogenic), and we definitely think she's got a shot at top 3, if not the whole shebang.
So, there you have it: we're calling the top 3 to be Jane, Chelsey, and Kayla, with Kayla as our favorite to win. Chris can't hold up in photographs the way she does in person, and Ann can only take photographs. As the challenges progress more into runway shows and go-sees, we'll see who can walk the strongest, which we're sure will be a huge indicator of who stays and who goes.
