A dozen hot guys competing to be the ugly-prettiest one of them all? Yes, please!
Tyra Banks recently talked to Yahoo! Singapore to promote Asia’s Next Top Model, and she shared one of her future plans: an all-male version of America's Next Top Model.
"I've been wanting to do it for quite some time and, yes, I'm the boss. But I have a boss and I have to convince him that a male version will do really well. … I haven't done a good enough job of convincing my boss, but I'm not giving up. Hopefully a male version will be sooner than later!"
We’re no demographics experts, but just looking around at the ANTM audience, we’re thinking a show about male models would do just fine.
Maybe Tyra should slip the boss (someone at the CW, or her fellow executive producer Ken Mok?) a copy of Magic Mike, along with some shots of Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps at the Olympics, to illustrate how warmly America welcomes men showing off the goods.
Or, heck, just introduce The Boss to new judge Rob Evans. He’s a male model, and we would happily watch a dozen wannabe Robs competing, without any arm twisting at all. They could even have Zoolander stars come in as guest judges. Blue Steel poses for everyone!
What do you think? Do you want a male model version of ANTM? If so, make your voices heard loud and proud so The Boss knows you’re in.
Catch the premiere of America's Next Top Model Cycle 19: College Edition on Friday, August 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
