Love is great and all, but the parts of The Bachelorette that appeal to us most are the traveling, sweet clothes, and paycheck. So, just how much is Season 10 hottie Andi Dorfman getting paid for her stint on the show?
ABC always remains mum on the matter — perhaps because they want to be sure that the lead is in it for the right reasons (™). Or maybe they just don’t want audiences to focus on the fact that the rose-dolers are getting paid to find love… Whatever the reasons, we’re curious.
A Life & Style source close to the show says that Andi isn’t making much money for her gig, at least by past standards. "She's making $50,000 this season — that's a whole year's salary for six weeks!" While Andi was working as an assistant district attorney in Fulton County, Georgia prior to becoming Bachelorette — she officially resigned recently — she’s only been out of law school for a little over a year. And considering law school at Wake Forest University (where Andi graduated in 2012) is $42K a year, we’d bet she has a few bills to pay…
"Andi doesn't want to go back to law after The Bachelorette,” the source adds. “She wants to see where this takes her." Hmm, so if she makes $50,000 for her brief time on the show, plus some money after for appearances, plus a paid-for wedding, if things work out… well, yeah, we’d say this could be quite profitable for her.
We’re happy Andi is raking in dough, but aren’t sure about the idea that she doesn’t want to work anymore. She seems driven and passionate about her work, and seeing as Andi has only been putting away criminals for such a short time, we’d bet she would be cool getting back to the courtroom. She even said in her letter of resignation that she hopes her employers will "strongly" consider her for re-hire at the end of the year.
Last year’s Bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock, was rumored to be worth around $200 thousand, though it was never clear how much of that came from being on the ABC show. Her TV show ex, Sean Lowe, made between $75 and $90K for Season 17. But the all-time highest-paid Bachelorette is Emily Maynard, who reportedly raked in $250,000 for her Season 8.
There’s a lot that comes with being the Bachelorette, and we’re happy that someone as worthy as Andi is making money for finding love. We just hope that with her negotiating skills, she argued for more than just 50 thou...
