Andrew Lincoln’s career is red-hot right now. Not only does he play the lead role, Rick Grimes, on the AMC hit The Walking Dead, but the sweet Brit was just nominated for two People’s Choice Awards on November 5, and snagged some serious representation courtesy of Hollywood mega-agency Creative Artists Agency last month.
Though Andrew usually spends his weekends with his family, the 40-year-old actor was on hand at Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta last weekend to mingle with and answer questions for devoted fans. One such fan asked Andy if he would ever host Saturday Night Live, and his response was a bit surprising.
“You’re not the first person to ask me that question, and it does fill me with absolute horror,” he revealed. The Ricktator has fears? We refuse to believe it! “I began on stage. My first ever role was the artful dodger in Oliver Twist and I was hooked ever since. I wouldn’t rule it out, but it would have to include… some hilarious sketches. But you’re never going to fill the boots of Christopher Walken. How good is that guy?”
The Walken is a total pro, but Andy hasn’t counted himself out just yet. “Never say never is my political answer for that,” he concluded.
Someone get Lorne Michaels on the phone ASAP — Andy can turn SNL into the Walken Dead.
SNL has been showing plenty of love to television stars as of late, with 30 Rock actress and SNL alumna Tina Fey hosting the Season 39 premiere back in September, and Scandal leading lady Kerry Washington taking over hosting duties last week, November 2.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
