When The Ricktator tells you to appear on The Walking Dead, you do it. This is not a democracy! Not that most of us would need to be told twice.
Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) was on Talking Dead after the Season 4 finale, and a fan referenced Zombieland and Bill Murray's appearance as himself; the fan asked Andy which real-world celeb he'd most like to see as themselves on The Walking Dead.
Host Chris Hardwick called it "an amazing question," but at first Andy looked stumped. That is a tough Q, but Andy quickly pulled out the PERFECT response: "William Shatner."
The crowd ooohed and clapped, and Chris said, "Shatner would be amazing!" Showrunner Scott Gimple was impressed, telling Andy, "That is the correct answer." Of course it is! The Ricktator knows all.
Chris joked that it would be amazing if they went to Terminus and the Star Trek icon was there, doing his Shatner voice, saying "Welcome to Terminus." That would be epic — although not quite the right fit for this show. We already have a guy with a mullet and another one with orange hair, the last thing we need is the cheese factor of Shatner.
Although, it does bring up the interesting question of which celebs would survive a real zombie apocalypse. They probably wouldn't hang out in the Atlanta suburbs with our crew, but maybe the TWD "companion series" could head to Hollywood and see which celebs survived. Maybe they could be led by Shatner himself.
Do you think William Shatner would be good for a TWD cameo or would that be way too weird?
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October 2014 on AMC.
