Julie Plec Confirms Another Vampire Diaries-The Originals Crossover!

Brace yourselves, Vampire Diaries and Originals fans, because executive producer Julie Plec just confirmed the greatest news ever. While our appetites for a crossover were mildly satisfied by Tyler Lockwood’s quick trip to New Orleans, we’ve been anxious to get another meeting of the TVD and Originals worlds — perhaps something great like the Klaroline moment from the 100th episode of TVD. What did our supernatural TV queen have to say? Read on for the scoop!

“It looks like we are going to be able to do a crossover in the first half of the season, and I can’t tell you what or who or when because it hasn’t been shot yet, but things are looking good,” Julie dished toEntertainment Weekly. We knew from 2014 Comic-Con there would indeed be another crossover attempt, but it’s good to now know we can count on it 100 percent.

We don’t blame Julie for being tight-lipped about this news, but we’re thrilled she narrowed down the potential crossover storyline a bit. She confirmed that this meshing of the two shows will not focus on newly-revived Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) — at least this time. “I just love the idea of Matt Davis playing in the pool with Joe [Joseph Morgan] and Daniel [Gillies],” Julie joked. (Please make this happen, TV Powers That Be!)

As for what the crossover will be about, we can only speculate. (Trust us, we’ve come up with a few ideas!) All we’ve really ever wanted is an effective crossover between our two favorite CW shows, we’re just glad Julie and her fellow creative minds are going to give it another go. After all, we must take advantage of the fact that these characters exist in the same universe.

What do you think the crossover is going to be about this time? Hit the comments and sound off with your ideas!
