Apollo Nida Blames Pressures of Reality TV For His Bank and Wire Fraud Actions

It's official — Phaedra Parks's hubby has plead guilty to financial fraud charges and he is currently facing up to 30 years in prison. Considering he already did time for racketeering, we're thinking it's likely he will end up in jail again. And now Apollo Nida is blaming Real Housewives of Atlanta for his mistakes.

Apparently, the pressure of keeping up with an extravagant lifestyle to match that of fellow co-stars, like NeNe Leakes, made him resort to shady ways of making money. The Atlanta Constitution-Journal reports that, in court, Apollo claimed that he felt "ashamed" that his wife was the main breadwinner in the relationship, which led him to his new crimes.

Apollo also insisted that Phaedra had no idea that he was involved in anything illegal.

"It was a dumb situation I put myself in,” he said, adding, “I got sucked in and engulfed and lost sight of things.”

By "things," we guess he means his two young sons, who will likely see their father go to jail now. So sad!

At least, Apollo does seem to have learned his lesson and he has some words of advice to share.

"Don’t do as I do, but take my experiences and hope that it will give you a better platform,” he said.

Apollo's sentencing is scheduled to take place on July 8 of this year, the same day that fellow fraud culprits Joe and Teresa Giudice from the Real Housewives of New Jersey will learn their fate. How's that for a coinkydink?
