Apollo Nida is no stranger to the inside of a cell, but it looks like the Real Housewives of Atlanta star may have seen the last of cinder blocks and bars for a while.
Apollo, who is charged with bank fraud and identity theft, has been accused of “[devising] a scheme and artifice to defraud financial institutions, other companies and individuals, and to obtain money and property by means of materially false and fraudulent pretenses,” but may still be able to avoid jail time if he takes a plea deal in the case.
RadarOnline.com reports that Apollo has spent the past few months trying to get some legal maneuvers in the works (perhaps with the help of his lawyer wife, Phaedra) that will allow him to cop to some of the charges against him in exchange for a reduced sentence — or better yet, no jail time at all.
Although Apollo has thus far kept quiet about the case, he told RadarOnline.com that he and Phaedra were “staying positive” about the outcome of the case, adding that his fans’ support has kept him afloat during this difficult time.
“I feel good about the support I’m getting,” said Apollo. “All the support’s been needed. It’s an uphill battle.”
While Apollo’s history of money-making schemes may keep the cops on his tail for the foreseeable future, it seems like the long arm of the law is the least of his worries — we’re sure the Atlanta housewives will never let him live this one down.
Do you think Apollo should face jail time for his offenses?
