Apollo Nida and Phaedra Parks Spend Valentine’s Day Hundreds of Miles Apart — Why? (UPDATE)

It looks like reports of Apollo Nida’s night out on Valentine’s Day have been greatly exaggerated. Michelle Edwards, who tweeted about spending time with the reality star during his trip to Columbia, South Carolina on February 14, has cleared up any miscommunication about what went down that night on Twitter, and one thing’s for sure — Apollo may not have spent the night with his wife, but he didn’t spend it with anyone else, either.

“OMG I cannot believe that a mere visit to my club & bar turned into something so far from the truth! Sorry,” tweeted Michelle after rumors about her evening with Apollo began to swirl. “I apologize to Apollo and his family for the total unnecessary chaos! He merely took pics with me & my staff.

Original story:

When times get hard, most of us stay close to our loved ones for support — but that doesn’t seem to be the case for legally troubled Apollo Nida. On the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was hundreds of miles away from his wife Phaedra Parks. Hope he sent flowers?

It became clear that the troubled Househusband — who was recently charged with fraud and identity theft — was away from his wife when, on February 14 at 10:30 p.m., he tweeted, “I’m here, Columbia SC Let’s Go!!! Palace 2.” (FYI: Palace 2 is a popular nightclub in Columbia, South Carolina.)

Meanwhile, according to social media, Phaedra was over 700 miles away in New Orleans, where she’s been holding book signings for her new advice tome Secrets of a Southern Belle. Not exactly an intimate V-Day for the couple, who have been married for four years and share two children, Ayden, 3, and baby Dylan.

Gossip site RadarOnline.com points out that, according to the comments on Apollo’s Twitter post, the reality star did a bit of a bar crawl that night, with one woman writing, “Thanks had a great night chilling with u and bro at palace and mobay [a restaurant and bar].”

Now, it’s not necessarily damning that the couple didn’t spend the day together. Lots of couples celebrate on the days around Valentine’s Day… and some people just opt out of the Hallmark tradition. But we’re just a little surprised that, mere weeks after Apollo insisted that the couple would “NEVER” separate, they would spend so much time apart.

Now you tell us: Are we reading into this physical distance between the couple too much?
