We were pretty shocked when Phaedra Parks’ husband Apollo Nida casually admitted to dropping $8,000 at the strip club on the regular — as was NeNe Leakes, who quickly pointed out that money would be better spent on his family — but apparently frequenting the strip club is business as usual for the guys and gals of Atlanta.
The fellas — Gregg Leakes, Apollo Nida, and Peter Thomas — were on Bethenny yesterday, January 30, and the subject of da club quickly came up. When Bethenny asked if going to the strip club counts as cheating, the men were unanimous in their answer: No! “That’s like our office,” Peter declared. “Guys go and meet in strip clubs, we’re not there to pick up the girls, it’s just the environment we want to be in.”
Peter may not be going to the club to pick up ladies, but as Gregg pointed out, he first met NeNe when she worked as a stripper in Atlanta. “I picked mine up,” he said with a laugh from the audience. “She invited me to her job and I graciously accepted,” he clarified.
And even though Bethenny’s chat was primarily with the Real Househusbands of Atlanta, she went into the audience to get some input on this matter from a very special guest: Phaedra!
Phae-Phae agreed that the strip club can be a good place to conduct business. “I represent some of the hottest adult entertainers in Atlanta... I have no problems with it. I actually frequent them myself to visit my clients,” she revealed. Kandi Burruss seems to agree with this point of view, based on what she told a Twitter follower about Todd’s own strip club habit earlier this week.
Phaedra continued, “It’s not considered sleazy in Atlanta to go to a strip club because it’s probably 50/50 men and women there at all times — as patrons, not as dancers.”
Despite everyone’s lax attitudes about going to the strip club, there does seem to be a “look, but don’t touch” type of policy in place. When Bethenny asked if there was a line that couldn’t be crossed, Gregg said, “We can’t go to the Boom Boom Room,” and everyone had a good laugh.
