Darren Criss to Appear at Benefit For Typhoon Victims
There are a lot of things to love about Darren Criss, but one of his best qualities? How involved he gets in his favorite causes, and how important it is to him to use his fame for good. Darren’s latest act of philanthropy is happening this weekend.
According to Broadway World, the Glee star will join up with artists like violinist Joshua Bell and Broadway star Lea Salonga in a benefit concert for victims of the Philippines’ Typhoon Haiyan called “After The Storm,” which will be held June 15 in Washington, D.C. at the Kennedy Center.
“This benefit concert intends to bring attention to the invaluable and necessary efforts of recovery for the people of the Philippines who were affected by Haiyan,” Ambassador Jose L. Cuisia Jr. said. If you’re interested in attending, there are tickets available in just about every price range. If you’re in the area, you can see Darren perform for as little as $25, and the money goes to a great cause. Not a bad deal!
This isn’t the only time Darren’s felt compelled to lend a hand recently. Last month, he offered up his time (and mad paddleboarding skills) when he auctioned off an afternoon in the sun with him to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in New York. This is exactly why we love him: He has such a big heart!
Wish you could be at Darren’s concert? What other causes should he support?
