We speculated before that Aria and Ezra would be getting back together in the summer finale, but is it possible we missed something and they already are? In the clip featured on GMA.com, Ezra is nervous about his official invitation to Aria’s family dinner.
“Well, this is the first time the Montgomerys have invited me over for Thanksgiving, and your mother assigned me with pie duty, so I’m not taking it lightly,” Ezra tells Aria as they work on the pumpkin pie, rejecting Aria’s suggestion that they just bring store-bought pies. Baked good blasphemy!
Aria tells it to Ezra straight: “Well, just so you know, they won’t have enough time to judge your baking. They’ll be too busy judging you.” Ezra looks up in quasi-horror while we wonder if this guy has even a modicum of perspective on how creepy the relationship with his former student is. Aria awesomely continues: “Well, that’s why you were invited. They know that we’re… spending a lot of time together, so they just want to make sure that you’re worth a second look.”
Hold. Up. Does this mean that Ezria is a thing again? Because we certainly didn’t get the memo. Yeah, we know they hooked up earlier in the season, but they never officially got back together. This is the couple that regularly engages in dramatic embraces in school parking lots and kisses in the rain. Off-screen reunions are not their style.
We think these two are in the nebulous “figuring things out” stage. They are both to nervous to try to define what’s happening between them, but they are becoming closer and will eventually have to. We have a feeling the events of the summer finale — both Thanksgiving dinner and whatever drama “A” has in store for the Liars — will do just that. In this promo, we see Ezra embracing a distraught Aria outside of a murder scene. And we all remember that Ezria’s last “slip” happened over pie. For better or worse, we think Ezria is getting back together in the summer finale.
Do you think Ezria is back together? Do you want them to be? Sound off in the comments below!
