Ariana Grande’s album Yours Truly released earlier this year but the singer’s just now sharing exclusive details about her music including a special tidbit that particularly caught our attention: Turns out there’s a super sweet and romantic story behind Ariana’s song “Daydreamin'”.
It’s got to be about Ariana and her new love, Nathan Sykes of The Wanted, right? With lyrics like, “You walked in / Caught my attention. / I’ve never seen / A man with so much dimension” and “Now I can’t wait, / To hold you in my arms, / I know I was made for you, / I’m in love with all of your charm,” the song’s clearly about young love.
Wrong. Well, kind of. If you listen to the full track, there’s a short audio clip at the end that Ariana attributes to a pair of older lovebirds.
“#YoursTruly fun fact.. the audio bit you hear at the end of #Daydreamin' is my Nonna and Grandpa telling the story of how they fell in love,” she tweeted October 18.
How sweet is that?! Sure Ariana and Nathan are great together, but there’s just something so lovely about including the meet-cute story of your grandparents. As for the details on that story, they’re a tad hard to hear over Ariana’s powerhouse vocals but we think we make out Nonna saying of Grandpa “and I looked at him. I was 11 years old…” Aww!
