Now we know what Ariana Grande was getting at when she said that her next collaboration would be with someone “unexpected.” The rising R&B star set the internet abuzz on Saturday night when she let followers know that she has a new song would be coming out next month — and it will feature troubled crooner Chris Brown.

At around the same time in the early hours of February 16, Chris and Ariana both took to their Twitter accounts to recite some corresponding lyrics. "I dug a single seed into the ground, I hope it grows" Chris tweeted, to which Ariana followed up, "In a year or two if you're around, you'll see a rose.”

After that, a fan of the “Right There” singer asked if the line was from a current favorite song of hers, to which she replied, “A song u haven't heard that is coming out in March.” Eek — so soon!

Ariana’s manager Scooter Braun also seemingly confirmed the collab: “@ArianaGrande that was an amazing session. Excited for this incredible duet on the way.” And it’s no surprise that Scooter would have paired Ariana up with Chris: His other major artist, Justin Bieber, is a longtime collaborator (and idolizer) of the “Fine China” singer.

Musically, this combo does make some sense, as Chris has a history of partnering up (both professionally and personally) with R&B divas like Rihanna and Jordin Sparks. And we knew that Ari was trying to give her squeaky clean image a little more edge. We just hope this relationship stays strictly professional — we can’t see another one of our good girls go bad.

At last month’s Grammys, Ariana hinted that this duet was on the way: “I just had a meeting yesterday with an artist that I love… He asked me to feature on a song of his, and I’m very excited about that. It’s an unexpected collaboration but I think that’s what makes it so cool.”

Well, we’re definitely curious to see how this one turns out, and at least we’ve got some new Ariana music in the works!
