Ariana Grande’s known for a lot of things: her Mariah Carey-like vocals, her retro, feminine style... but perhaps most recently, her signature baby-doll hairstyle. We can’t remember a time in the past year when the singer wasn’t rocking a pristine half-updo with a sky-high pony, but the 20-year-old finally decided to ditch the youthful style for a more grown-up feel.

The “Right There” singer walked the red carpet at the 2014 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, and let’s just say, it’s the first time in a while that she’s actually looked her age! Trading her typical ‘50s-style dresses and tea-length hems, Ariana opted for a body-hugging number in a bright shade of orange. She paired the look-at-me frock with white platform heels and perfectly ironed hair, adding a Chanel clutch with Nickelodeon decals for a fun, cheeky finish.

Inside the event, Ariana was overwhelmed as she accepted the award for Favorite TV Actress for her work on the hit series Sam & Cat. “Wow. Thank you so much! This means the world to me,” she said during her acceptance speech. “I want to thank Nickelodeon and [executive producer] Dan Schneider for giving me the gift of being able to play Cat Valentine. This character means more to me than you understand. And thank you to my fans. I love you!”

Following the ceremony, Ariana took to Twitter to thank her fans once more. “My loves I can’t believe it thank you so much! My heart is exploding #kca.”
