Ariel Winter’s Mother: My Daughter Accused Me of Sex Abuse — Report (UPDATE)
In further reporting from the court papers filed about child actress Ariel Winter, E! News reports Ariel's mother Chrisoula Workman's attorney claims Ariel "hurled false accusations of abuse against Chrisoula" in a "willy-nilly fashion." Why do such a thing? The lawyer says because Ariel didn't "get her way" about carrying on a "romantic relationship with the adult, Cameron Palatas," Cameron being the now 19-year-old ex-boyfriend of Ariel.
As if that's not enough of a worrisome development, Ariel's father, Glenn Workman, added that Ariel has gone "through a stage where she was extremely physical" that included "beating on her mother." He believes Ariel "was coached" on what to say so she could "get away" from her parents. He added Ariel "can cry on cue." Sadly, this battle doesn't look to be getting better anytime soon.
Modern Family child star Ariel Winter's own family situation continues to get tenser, as allegations of sexual abuse now surface.
Ariel's mom, Chrisoula Workman, is fighting to regain custody of the 15-year-old star, and TMZ now reports that Chrisoula is raising allegations of sexual molestation.
In legal documents reportedly filed by Chrisoula, she claims that Ariel accused her of "sexual abuse or sexual molestation." Chrisoula says in the documents: "I adamantly deny these accusations."
However, Ariel had only alleged physical and emotional abuse in court during the guardianship case, so it's unclear as to why Chrisoula is bringing up these supposed allegations.
This is just the latest in the family's ongoing legal struggles. Last month, Ariel's brother Jimmy sued for custody of her.
Chrisoula also says that Ariel contributed to her getting cancer. "I believe the reason I got cancer was from the stress of the situation [Ariel's sister] Shanelle put me through of missing my child when she was not there..." Wow.
We continue to wish the best for Ariel and her family, and we hope this can get resolved in a satisfactory manner.
