Grey’s Anatomy: Arizona Trying to Force Happiness By Buying House, Says Jessica Capshaw

If you felt a little whiplash by how quickly Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) made the 180 from "Let's break up"" to "Let's buy a house!" during the February 27 episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 10, Episode 13: "Take It Back" — you're not the only one.

In fact, the tiny-human doctor's portrayer, Jessica Capshaw, says that her character is trying to force a happy ending for herself and wife Callie (Sara Ramirez).

"It's the, 'If you build it, they will come' mentality," the 37-year-old tells TVLine. "It's the absolute wish fulfillment. It's like, 'Let's paint a picture of where we would be really happy, and then let's hope we go there and then get really happy.'"

And the ploy might actually work, despite some roadblocks: "They are making their way. But it's not uncomplicated."

As we saw in Episode 13, Arizona alluded to this plan when Callie asked her why she wanted the (potentially blood-stained) house so badly and so soon after her breakdown.

"I'm worried that you're thinking about how good it feels now and not thinking about the fact that I come with the house," Callie expressed.

"I look at that house, and I don't see a hospital bed in our bedroom, and I don't see a shower that you had to drag me into because I wouldn't do it on my own," Arizona explained. "I see a tire swing and a treehouse. We may wake up in a year and realize it was a huge mistake. But if it works? Oh my god. Just thinking about it makes me smile so hard my face hurts."

Well, at least she's upfront about it!
