We hope you’ve been practicing your Chicken Dance because Season 5 of Arrested Development has been confirmed by multiple sources! When is the Bluth family drama returning to a computer screen near you? Read on to get the details from a Netflix boss and Will Arnett (Gob Bluth) himself.
Speaking with USA Today, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said he was “positive” that Season 5 of the former Fox series would happen and that “it’s just a matter of when.” As if that news wasn’t good enough, Will Arnett got the ball rolling even faster by telling Jimmy Fallon and the audience of The Tonight Show that it was a definite go. “It’s going to happen,” Will revealed. “We don’t know when, but it’s going to happen.”
Netflix famously revived the cult series last spring for a 15-episode fourth season and is sure to chalk this one up as a “win” given the show’s loyal audience. Even though there’s no timeline on when viewers might expect more over-the-top antics from the Bluth family, we’re ready to clear a weekend to binge-watch it whenever the time comes.
Arrested Development is the original “Little Engine That Could” in the TV world and definitely isn’t losing steam just yet.
