Avengers: Age of Ultron — Paul Bettany Cast as The Vision… and J.A.R.V.I.S.?

If we were Paul Bettany, we'd be hoping that twice the work for Avengers: Age of Ultron means twice the pay.

The 42-year-old actor is already a member of the Marvel family — having voiced Tony Stark's Siri-like artificial intelligence system, J.A.R.V.I.S., in the three Iron Man films and in The Avengers.

But now the Brit has been cast in a totally different role for the sequel to the superhero dream-team hit — set to appear onscreen as The Vision, as The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

In the comic books, The Vision is an android created by Ultron who eventually becomes an Avenger himself, armed with the power of invisibility and microwave beams.

In the film, Ultron — a villainous artificial intelligence system — will be played by James Spader.

But here's the rub: We're assuming Age of Ultron will also include Iron Man's suit and the accompanying voice of J.A.R.V.I.S., so Paul will likely be pulling double duty. (Or perhaps J.A.R.V.I.S. will turn into The Vision…?)

Also reprising their roles in the sequel are Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), and Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury).

Sounds like a truly superb lineup of actors. Now assemble and start filming this movie, people!
