When she was just 6 years old, Aviva Drescher lost part of her left leg in a farm accident. As a result, the Real Housewives of New York star has spent most of her life with a prosthetic leg. And you know what? Those faux limbs don’t come cheap!
So what’s the price tag on a lifetime supply of prosthetic legs? Oh, probably at least $2 mil. Aviva, 47, recently told Life & Style, “I’ve definitely spent well over $1 million on all my legs!”
Yes. You read that right. The UES mother of four could easily purchase an entire house (and then some) with all the money she’s spent on prosthetic legs. “I’ve had around 50 legs throughout my lifetime,” she tells the mag, “and they run about $30,000 apiece.” If you do that math, that’s actually $1.5 million, which means Aviva was actually low balling her estimate!
Aviva guesses that she’d spent about $500,000 on legs by the time she was 18. As for her more recent limbs, the reality star says she goes to A Step Ahead prosthetics, where an in-house crafter builds her left leg to look as close to her right leg as possible.
So if Aviva seems like she always has a leg up on the competition... this is probably why.
