A lot of time goes into picking outfits for Bachelor cocktail parties alone, so we can only imagine how long it takes the contestants to decide on a potential proposal dress!

NEWS: The Story Behind Bachelorette’s Last Minute Switch

Thanks to People getting the inside fashion scoop, we now know Lauren Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher were each given 18 possible finale dresses from show stylist Cary Fetman.

The two women vying for Ben Higgins's heart narrowed their choices down to two dresses each, so they both had a backup. What did the runner-up styles look like?

Lauren, who wore a royal blue Badgley Mishka dress while Ben got down on one knee, could have been wearing the form-fitting white gown above.

We think she made a solid choice with the bold blue style, instead of taking the more obvious bridal route.

As for JoJo, she wore a pink sequined dress for the finale, but her other option was the one-shoulder, gold look in the photo above. Considering the contestants are allowed to keep their dresses, we think JoJo also made the right choice — that loud dress would be way too much of a reminder of her and Ben's breakup.

Why do they even keep the dresses to begin with? The show stylist explained, "I’m not about to go up to someone who just got engaged or dumped and ask for her dress back." Touché, touché.

VIDEO: 5 Reasons JoJo Will Nail It as Bachelorette

The magazine gave some other tidbits about Lauren and JoJo's fashion moments, revealing how they wore almost the same Suzanne Kalan earrings to the final rose ceremony.

When it came time for the After the Final Rose special, though, the two contestants couldn't have looked more different.

Bachelorette 2016 JoJo wore a super sexy Alexander Wang dress and OPI Bubble Bath on her nails.

Lauren got her more bridal chic look at the after show, wearing a white crocheted style.

We'll miss seeing these fashion moments each week, but hey, now we get to think about what Lauren will wear on her wedding day and what JoJo will have on come premiere night in May!

The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 23 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
