Bummer! Bachelor Ben Higgins Won’t Be Kissing Much on Season 20
While Ben might not go completely abstinent on his season à la Mr. Lowe, it sounds like the 26-year-old is seriously limiting the amount of “kissing and making out” with his 28 contestants. But before you get too upset, he has a legit reason:
“One of things that I went into this season after talking to some of my mentors and my friends — and also just thinking how I want to do it myself — was I really wanted to concentrate on getting to know these women outside of the physical aspect of it," Ben explained in a conference call with E! News.
Chris Soules did spend a lot of time lip-locked on Season 19, and he split from fiancée and final pick Whitney Bischoff not long after the finale aired. Maybe he could have done with a little more time getting to know his possible future wives — and not just the inside of their mouths.
“I wanted to make sure we spent our time getting to know each other one on one and not necessarily kissing or making out the whole the time,” the Colorado resident elaborated, though he did admit he kisses some of the women.
Another likely factor in his more conservative approach to his “love journey” is his strong Christian faith — hey, just like Sean!
“I would really like to find a woman that had a similar faith as I do,” Ben revealed. “I think that'd be important as we raise a family, as we move forward in life. So faith is important to me.”
So it’s safe to say Bachelor is going to be a lot less steamy than Kaitlyn Bristowe’s previous Bachelorette season. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be interesting — just check out this, ahem, eclectic batch of gals who are prime for drama!
Bachelor Season 20 premieres Monday, January 4 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
