During last night’s Bachelor in Paradise, you might have been tempted to feel bad for resident villain Joe Bailey when Samantha Steffen dumped him on his birthday. We were too, that is, until we took a gander at his recent social media activity…

We told you a little while back about how Joe had been receiving a lot of Twitter criticism for using single mom and widow Juelia Kinney to get a rose and stay in Paradise. Well, it looks like the Kentucky native’s almost universal dislike has not been lost on him, and instead of taking the high road, he’s started addressing his haters directly.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with defending oneself from time to time. However, Joe’s not exactly on the defensive here — he’s strictly offensive, in both senses of the word. The 29-year-old has been throwing a number of insults at followers and most are to do with their looks (via profile photos), ranging from telling them how much he’d like to “erase your face” to simply “ew!”

Needless to say, Joe isn’t helping himself here. We doubt this divisive fella will be making like his Bachelorette Season 11 castmate (and enemy) JJ Lane and redeeming himself to the public anytime soon.

Speaking of JJ, some of Joe’s vitriol has also been spewed at co-stars like the former investment banker… and even JJ’s bestie, Clint Arlis, about whom Joe made a gay joke.

Joe also had the nerve to throw shade at the woman he wronged, Juelia, for getting excited about Mikey Tenerelli’s return to Paradise.

But at the end of the day, the Southern non-gentleman seems to be loving the attention he’s gotten from Twitter “trolls.”

We have no idea what’s going through the guy’s head right now, but luckily (or not so much?) he’ll be on After Paradise tonight and hopefully Chris Harrison and Jenny Mollen will be able to get to the bottom of it. Don’t let him off the hook, guys!

Bachelor in Paradise airs tonight, August 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
