Bachelor Nation Reacts to Episode 5: Nick Viall Should Stop Writing Poetry

For better or worse, Twitter is a haven of truth where peeps love to tell it like they see it. So how’d tweeters see Episode 5 of The Bachelorette? Two topics of note caught our eye: Josh Murray finally got the Internet on his side for his off-the-charts chemistry with Andi Dorfman, and Nick Viall caught flak for that “poem” that he read to her.

Josh’s popularity soared on Twitter during his 1-on-1 with Andi, with viewers suddenly rooting for the baseball player thanks to his moment of reals with the Bachelorette. The baller stopped giggling and acting like a nervous school girl and finally… just talked. We got to see the softer side of Josh and, in short, the date was a home run.

Tweeters didn’t mince words, however, over Nick’s words. During the group date, Nick whipped out a piece of paper while telling Andi, “I’m not the secret admirer but I did write this for you.” It felt like it was going to be a poem, but turned out to just be a list of qualities he sees in her. Andi dug it, leaning in close for some tongue action, but Twitter did not. Some called it manipulative, while others thought it was kinda just a dumb move.

What else got tongues wagging on the social media site? Fashion was a big focus, with comments on Chris Harrison and Andi Dorfman’s matching turtlenecks, Marquel Martin’s mixing of a gingham print with flowers, and Cody Sattler’s cleavage.
