The Bachelor Wins Big at the Young Hollywood Awards — Take That, Emmys!
And here you thought your favorite dating franchise, The Bachelor and Bachelorette, was just your Monday night guilty pleasure. Not so, fair fans! It’s an award-winning show, thanks to the Young Hollywood Awards held this past Sunday July 27 in Los Angeles (and airing tonight on The CW!).
ABC’s longest-running series about singles seeking lust love was nominated in the category of Reality Royalty, and beat out fan favorites America’s Next Top Model, The Real Housewives, The Voice, and So You Think You Can Dance for the win. Take that, Emmy Awards!
Chris Harrison and a choice few of the cast from the upcoming spin-off series Bachelor in Paradise were on hand to accept the award, which is not the franchise’s first. Our favorite loco lovers have been nominated for multiple awards, including TV Guide’s Best Guilty Pleasure award, and back in 2008, the franchise won a Teen Choice Award for British Bachelor Matt Grant’s stint as rose giver.
While we don’t need our favorite show to earn accolades for us to keep watching, it’s nice to know we’re not alone in our deep appreciation of the drama and WTF moments host Chris Harrison and our fan favorite cast deliver week after week as they lay their hearts on the table before us. Congrats guys! Keep the love fest coming.
Send your congratulations to Harrison and gang in the comments!
