Rachel Lindsay Is Engaged to Bryan Abasolo! See the ‘Bachelorette’ 2017 Proposal (VIDEO)
Rachel Lindsay finally got her happy ending!
The Dallas gal has been straightforward from the start of her Bachelorette 2017 season — she wanted to end her finale with a proposal and a fiancé… not a boyfriend.
And that’s exactly what she got from Bryan Abasolo!
It wasn’t all smooth sailing in Rioja, Spain, of course. Rachel had to first make heads and tails of her relationships with both Bryan and runner-up Peter Kraus.
The handsome Wisconsin put the Bachelorette through the ringer a bit with his hesitation to commit to the engagement this early on in their relationship.
“Which guy do I take the chance on — the one who’s in love and wants what I want at the end of this or the one who I feel strong for who’s not sure he’s ready to propose at the end of this?” she asked herself ahead of the final dates.
Though it wasn’t really chance, it seems, for Rach to take on Bryan, whom she called “steady” and like “a rock” for her.
So when it came time to make some decisions, it’s no wonder the 37-year-old hunk reigned supreme!
In the final rose ceremony, the Miami chiropractor confidently walked up the hill to the brunette beauty, ready to pop the question.
“Rachel, when I first stepped out of the limo, I knew I was in for the ride of my life,” he started, as the wind blew dramatically around them.
He continued, “When we first kissed, it was literally like a chemistry bomb had just exploded.
“I just knew that first night with 100 percent certainty in my heart that we could definitely be something special.
“You are everything I could ever want in a woman — a wife, the mother of my children. I’m completely, head over heels, totally, absolutely in love with you. I just hope you feel the same,” he concluded.
Then, it was her turn!
“My heart has never been more confused than it has been this week,” she admitted.
“I’ve always been drawn to the excitement of gambling my feelings on the complicated relationships. You know, it’s the damaged connections that have offered me the chance to always run away.”
She went on, “That’s why when I found you, it just seemed too perfect. I was trying to find cracks in what seemed like the perfect foundation.
“I’ve really had to do some soul searching, deeper than I ever have before, to find the courage to challenge myself. It’s tested me in ways that I couldn’t have even imagined.”
“Right here, in this moment standing with you, I see my forever and I see my future. I just want to tell you that I love you and I’m in love with you and I can’t imagine my life with anyone else,” she said to a smiling Bryan.
Cue the kiss! But he wasn’t done.
“I am the best version of myself when I’m with you,” he gushed.
“You are so easy and effortless to love and I just want to love you for the rest of my life.”
And then he got down on one knee!
“Rachel Lindsay, will you be my reina forever and marry me?” he asked, using the word “queen” in Spanish.
“Yes!” she enthused, bursting with happiness.
Hooray! Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Abasolo. You make a lovely couple!
