The Backstreet Boys Spill on Joint Spice Girls Tour: “It Easily Could Happen” — Exclusive

‘90s kids everywhere freaked the eff out back in 2015 when there were rumors the Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls would potentially be going on tour together.

Unfortunately, the best concert collab ever “fizzled out” because the ladies were doing their own thing at the time, but... never say never, folks!

The likelihood of this joint tour happening is higher than ever right now, because both BSB Nick Carter and Baby Spice Emma Bunton are serving on the judges’ panel for Boy Band, a new singing competition show premiering this summer on ABC.

Can't wait to get started @boybandabc

So, naturally, when Wetpaint caught up with Nick, A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, and Kevin Richardson at 103.5’s KTUPhoria 2017 presented by AT&T on Saturday, June 3 at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater, we had to get to the bottom of this.

“We honestly, we had mentioned that a while back and it’s something that I think easily could happen in a split second,” Nick told us on the red carpet of the joint tour.

“Backstreet spice!” Brian excitedly chimed in.

They’ve got a ship name already!

And Kevin agreed this collaboration is currently “more likely now than it ever was.”

“We’re working on new material right now, we’re going to do a tour next year along with our Vegas residency,” he said.

“We’re going to tour the world and the U.S. So if it works out down the line, now that (Nick and Emma) are working together, I think it’s more likely now than it ever was. So we’ll see if it works out for both teams. We’d love to do it.”

Yeah, we guess you could say we’d love to see it…

Joining the Backstreet Boys at KTUPhoria was a slew of other artists, including Daya, Jason Derulo, Fifth Harmony, and Miley Cyrus, who, immediately after her three-song set, jetted off to Manchester to perform at Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester concert.

KTUPhoria is considered the kick-off to summer concert season in New York, and there’s no better way to do that than with this amazing BSB/Spice Girls news.

Quit playing game with our hearts and make it happen, guys!
