Lea Michele’s “Battlefield” vs. “Cannonball”: Which Song Is Best?

Just a few short weeks after releasing her first single from her debut album, Louder, scheduled to hit the stands in March of 2014, Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel) has surprised us with another tune off the record. Titled "Battlefield," this song is very different from her first, "Cannonball," and we're having a hard time deciding which one we prefer.

"Cannonball" is a truly inspirational tune, delivering a strong message about the importance of believing in yourself. The song focuses on the theme of rising up and moving past adversity, something that Lea is all too familiar with.

"I got this new beginning and I will fly, will fly, like a cannonball," Lea sings during the chorus.

Even though "Cannonball" is a power ballad, it's still far more upbeat than the emotional "Battlefield."

The latter features Lea softly singing about the sad moments leading up to a breakup, when a couple knows that their relationship has come to the end of the road. The beautiful melody combined with the heartfelt lyrics make this tune a real tearjerker. Listen to “Battlefield” on JustJared.

"You and I we have to let each other go, We keep holding on but we both know, What seemed like a good idea has turned into a battlefield," Lea sings on the track.

On the one hand, "Cannonball" is full of hope and inspiration, but "Battlefield" is a gorgeous song, too. We can't decide!

Which song do you think is better? Will you be picking up Lea's album in March? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
