Lea Michele (Rachel) had a rough year with the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith (Finn), and though she may not be ready to move on romantically just yet, she does know she eventually wants to have children.
Earlier this week Lea was promoting her book, Brunette Ambition, on Sirius XM’s The Moms with hosts Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein and so naturally Denise and Melissa asked Lea if she wants to be a mom one day.
“100 percent,” she answered without skipping a beat. The hosts then wondered if that question was a bit too personal, but Lea brushed it off with some humor: “This is The Moms show and I’m a girl, so I don’t think it’s that crazy.”
Still, at 27, Lea says she’s in no rush to have a child. “I’m still playing like a 19-year-old on TV,” she said with a laugh. It turns out part of Lea’s desire to eventually become a mom has to do with her own wonderful upbringing. “I have the greatest parents. I really do,” she said.
Calling her mom and dad “adorable” Lea noted that her parents, who met when her mom was 14, work so well because “he makes her f—ing laugh...he will make her pee her pants.” Lea went on to say that growing up with such loving parents has made it easier for her to spot real love.
“When you can see what it really looks like I think you can have an eye on how to find it. I’m a strong believer in that a good father will mold a great daughter,” she said. “A lot of people think it’s the mom — it is the mom — but when your dad teaches you about what a good man should be like and all of that, I’m telling you.”
We know the last several months have been grueling for Lea, but when she’s ready, we have no doubt that she’ll find a great guy to share her amazing life with.
