Benzino Says Airline Apologized For Booting Him Off the Plane
Just a couple days ago, a video surfaced of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s own Benzino being kicked off a plane while shouting rapid-fire expletives — and now we have his side of the story. The record producer claimed that he was booted off the plane after being racially profiled, and according to the star, the airline, AirTran, has since apologized for it.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Benzino gave a play-by-play of everything that went down, ultimately ending with his outburst. According to Zino, he and his fianceé, Althea "Thi Thi" Heart, were the last two people to board their plane in Chicago on a flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta. When the two went to take their seats in First Class, an attendant demanded to see their tickets. Benzino said he felt the attendant was rude and racially profiling them, as they were people of color sitting in First Class, and that’s when he decided to go off.
“They basically were talking to me very disrespectful and came at me inappropriate,” Benzino explained. “That’s why I was upset about the situation. I am not the one to scream the race card unless I truly believe I am being treated not equal."
Zino Grigio said that an airline rep later apologized to him, admitted they were in the wrong, and gave him and Thi Thi two $200 vouchers.
Can’t we all just get along?! Sigh.
