Glee Season 5, Episode 4 “A Katy or a Gaga” Best and Worst Songs — Do You Agree?
Glee usually manages to pack an insane number of songs into each episode, but in last night’s Season 5, Episode 4, we were given just four musical numbers. There were two by Katy Perry and two by Lady Gaga. We've narrowed the songs from “A Katy or a Gaga,” down to the very best and the coulda-done-without. Do you agree with our picks?
Best Performance of the Night: “Wide Awake” by Jake, Tina, Kitty, and Unique
This one’s a no-brainer, right? We love Adam Lambert’s “Marry the Night,” but the clear winner is the moving, stripped-down “Wide Awake.” In fact, these four singers deliver some of their best vocals ever (go, Jake!), and the harmonies offer a one-way ticket to Tinglesville, USA. (We like the harmonies, is what we’re trying to say.) We’re definitely on cloud nine while listening to this.
Worst Performance of the Night: “Applause” by Sam, Artie, Blaine, Ryder, and Marley
If the category were “Best Abs of the Night,” then this song would have won by a country mile. But based on the vocals alone, this bland cover version did not soar, despite the fact that Sam was wearing those giant wings during it. Sadly, we do not want to cheer and scream for this one.
