You had to know Saturday Night Live would not ignore the biggest pop culture story of the week: The epic Met Ball elevator fight between Jay Z and Beyoncé’s sister, Solange Knowles.

SNL launched last night’s (May 17) Andy Samberg-hosted show with a cold open sketch featuring the dysfunctional family members addressing the camera with what really happened.

Comedian Jay Pharoah broke out every Jay Z mannerism he could find to play the rap mogul, with newcomer Sasheer Zamata as Solange, Kenan Thompson as the bodyguard (who tried to jump in every time Solange moved), and Maya Rudolph featured at the end, killing it as Beyoncé.

They even had a special wind machine just for Bey, who added, "So if you think I condone this invasion of privacy, then you must not know ’bout meeeee…"

Jay and Solange showed their own version of the elevator fight, this time including audio, proving that Jay and Solange love each other very much, and she only "attacked" him because there was a spider on him. ("Get it, I got arachnophobia!")

So there you go. No family issues at all!

The real Jay and Solange issued a statement after the elevator footage was released, saying they both assume their share of responsibility for what happened. “The both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
