With just three weeks to go before Big Brother 16 kicks off on June 25, we’re happy to report that casting for the longstanding CBS reality staple is officially complete! This thrilling news comes to us courtesy of the show’s casting director, Robyn Kass, who made the ever-important announcement on Twitter earlier this week.

On June 2 Robyn tweeted, “Thanks 2 everyone who applied for #BB16. Amazing applicants, as always! #keeptrying #keepbelieving #BBfans r the best!!!” And just before that happy tweet, Robyn posted a picture of a sign that said, “BB Reception,” hinting that there was a recent meet and greet for the new crop of contestants that will be sharing a house and battling it out for $500,000 this summer.

Unfortunately, Robyn didn’t dish out any casting specifics, but we're confident that she and her team assembled a unique and diverse group of competitors. Last summer, during Big Brother 15, several contestants (most notably Aaryn Gries) landed in hot water because of blatantly racist remarks they made on the show, and while you could argue that it made for good television, it was certainly a major headache for CBS.

CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler has since said she was “mortified” by the racist remarks, and promised that the casting process would be more stringent in the future. “I sit in those auditions, those interviews. When you are talking to people, you get one perspective on their personality. You ask very probing questions, and you develop an opinion about that person,” she told Entertainment Weekly earlier this year. “We do the requisite background checks, which we are obviously upgrading with more and more resources. At the end of the day we felt the producers handled it responsibility. They dealt with it as well as they could.”

While we certainly hope the Season 16 cast is entertaining, we’re not sure we need anyone as, uh, colorful as Aaryn.
