For the past 15 seasons of Big Brother, whoever won the Head of Household competition was safe for the week and was in charge of nominating two of their fellow houseguests for eviction. It was a seat of power, it was a big gamble, and it was always a big deal. But for Big Brother 16, one of the big twists is that there will be two Heads of Household each week. How’s that going to work?

Well, each HOH will nominate two houseguests for eviction (that’s four total). Those houseguests will then go head-to-head as duos in a new competition called “Battle of the Block.” The winning duo will come off the block and thereby dethrone the HOH who nominated them, sending them back into the pool of houseguests eligible for nomination after the solo HOH, his two nominees, and three randomly chosen houseguests compete in the Power of Veto challenge.

Got it? Well, now we have to address the important question of who IS the HOH? Check back each week as we let you know!

Week 1

Out of the first eight houseguests to move in, it was Frankie Grande who won the HOH competition. After the other eight houseguests arrived and competed, it was “metrosexual cowboy” Caleb Reynolds who outlasted his fellow competitors. With the HOHs set, who did they nominate? Frankie decided to nominate Victoria Rafaeli and Brittany Martinez while Caleb nominated Donny Thompson and Paola Shea. In the Battle of the Block competition, it was Victoria and Brittany who reigned supreme, dethroning Frankie and saving themselves. That means Caleb stays in charge and Donnie and Paola remain on the block ahead of the POV competition.

Week 2

After Joey Van Pelt was evicted by a vote of 13-0, there was a pretty awesome HOH competition in which the women competed against the women and the men competed against the men. First up? The ladies. The remaining seven women fought it out in a competition that tested their balance, and it was Amber Borzotra who proved she is a strong player. When the eight guys gathered to compete, it was Devin Shepherd who outlasted his competitors after Cody Calafiore fouled out right as he hit his buzzer. Amber's nominees, Hayden Voss and Nicole Franzel won the Battle of the Block, dethroning Amber. Devin was the HOH left standing, with his two nominees on the block: Brittany Martinez and Paola Shea.
