UPDATE: Yep, by a vote of 10-2, Paola Shea was named the second Houseguest evicted from BB16. At least her speech at Devin was epic. "Devin, you have five personalities and they all suck!" Ha! She teared up at Donny's goodbye message, since she and the "42-year-old bearded" guy ended up being best friends.
Will Pow Pow be the second person (and second girl in a row) to go bye bye from Big Brother 16? It's looking that way.
Tonight (Thursday, July 10), the Houseguests will choose to evict either Paola Shea or Zach Rance. This is all Devin Shepherd's doing as Week 2 Head of Household. My what a mess he has made.
Paola was meant to be safe. That's what Devin wanted. He even asked her to throw the Battle of the Block, when he originally put her up with Brittany Martinez. (Did Pow really throw the comp or is she just terrible at challenges? Point to ponder...) That's when Brittany was Devin's target. Now she's his biggest crush.
Devin had promised to take Paola off the block if he won Power of Veto, but he did win POV, and used it to save Brittany, replacing her with Zach. His target became Zach, and it originally looked like maybe he'd get his wish, but a lot of scrambling has been done in the past couple of days and it now looks like Paola will be going home after all. (For a minute there we thought she might become the official pawn of BB16, but apparently not.)
Julie Chen always tells us to expect the unexpected, and that's especially true with Devin. He never sticks with a plan for too long. But since it was unexpected to see Zach on the block at all — since he's a member of Devin's The Bomb Squad alliance — it's hard to know what could possibly qualify as unexpected now. Maybe Devin and Caleb Reynolds stop crushing on Brittany and Amber Borzotra, respectively, and decide they now love Nicole Franzel? That might be unexpected.
Tonight's live show will show the fallout from Zach's POV replacement nomination. We may hear him accuse Frankie Grande of being a flip-flopper and expose the Bomb Squad to Hayden Voss. Since then, Devin has exposed the squad to others in the house. Devin said he's out of the squad completely, and he looks like an obvious Week 3 target, but the way these HGs flip everything around, for all we know Donny Thompson will be the new target. (But please no. Donny is a Pop Tart-loving angel who fell from the sky.)
Needless to say, Paola is not happy. She woke up this morning wanting to punch Devin in the face. She may not have been the only one, but maybe we’ll see some fireworks go Pow Pow tonight, as she's on her way out the door...
