After 16 seasons we should be used to expecting the unexpected, but double evictions are still one of the most shocking twists Julie Chen can throw out. This week, the Big Brother 16 contestants voted out Jocasta. It was kind of shocking since the plan for most of the week had been to get Zach out.

Julie revealed to the remaining houseguests that since this was a double eviction week, there would only be one Head of Household — taking the game back to its roots just for the night. The HOH competition was a math-based quiz based on previous challenges which weeded out most of the houseguests in the first round, leaving only Zach, Caleb, and Christine. After a few more rounds, Beastmode Cowboy officially won the honor of being HOH for the next 30 minutes.

Caleb nominated Hayden and Donnie for nomination, noting that there is a “line drawn” between the two sides of the house. Zach, Victoria, and Christine were randomly chosen to compete alongside Caleb, Hayden, and Donnie in the Power of Veto competition. Since there is no Battle of the Block, this was the only chance to change the nominations. While Zach got off to a great start, it was Donnie who walked away with the POV. He obviously used it on himself and Caleb chose to nominate Nicole — which means Haycole came to an end tonight.

In the end, only two votes were cast to eliminate Nicole while Hayden received five votes. While Hayden and Nicole were on the other side of the house, it definitely made more sense to get rid of a physical threat. That being said, both Hayden and Nicole did some damage by throwing Christine and Frankie under the bus. As usual, double eviction led to a huge move in the house.
