Best of the Biggest Loser Before and Afters: Who Kept the Weight Off? (PHOTOS)
It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 10 years since The Biggest Loser premiered on NBC in 2004. Though when we look at the hundreds of people whose lives the show has changed, it’s somewhat less surprising. And as fans of the long-running series can attest, it’s hard not to grow attached to each contestant’s story and end result.
But what about those contestants of years past? What happens when they don’t have the incentive of the final weigh-in or America’s approval? We’re checking in with all of your most successful Biggest Losers to see how they’re doing in a post-Jillian Michaels, post-giant scale world.

Season 5 (2008): Ali Vincent
Starting Weight: 234 lbs.
Ending Weight: 122 lbs.
Current Weight: Over 200 lbs.
The show’s first-ever female winner, Ali revealed in 2016 her struggles with gaining the weight back after the show.
"On April 16th I did one of the hardest things in my life I joined Weight Watchers and weighed in close to the weight I started at on The Biggest Loser. I swore I would never be there again, be here again. I couldn't imagine a day again that I would weigh over 200 pounds. I feel ashamed. I feel embarrassed. I feel overwhelmed. I feel like failure."
She added, "I've decided to feel proud of myself again! To hell with shame! I've been so afraid and worried of public shame and ridicule that I've created more pain for myself than anyone else can but not anymore."
Season 6 (2008): Michelle Aguilar
Starting Weight: 242 lbs.
Ending Weight: 132 lbs.
Current Weight: Unknown — but she did have a baby, Roxanne, on December 6, 2013!
Michelle says that the biggest change since her win was getting married. "I live a more full life," she said. "One that is not always easy, but it's a life that I am in control of." We bet her life is even more full these days, as the mother of a newborn! Congrats, Michelle!
Season 7 (2009): Helen Phillips
Starting Weight: 257 lbs.
Ending Weight: 117 lbs.
Current Weight (as of 2012): 135 lbs.
Helen Phillips walked away with both the season’s crown and the bragging rights of being the contestant to lose the most weight ever, dropping a whopping 140 pounds. Helen seems to have kept the weight off for the most part, remaining active by competing in races and hitting the gym.
Season 9 (2010): Michael Ventrella
Starting Weight: 526 lbs.
Ending Weight: 262 lbs.
Current Weight (as of 2012): 289 lbs.
Michael keeps motivated by working as a trainer and leading workout classes. He’s also very focused on his diet, and says that by combining both parts he intends to "gain lean body mass and shed body fat percentage in the healthiest way possible."
Season 10 (2010): Patrick House
Starting Weight: 400 lbs.
Ending Weight: 219 lbs.
Current Weight (as of 2012): 235 lbs.
Patrick has stayed in shape since the show by running several half-marathons, marathons, and even a 30-mile ultra marathon.
But don’t think this Biggest Loser doesn’t still indulge from time to time. "People ask me all the time whether or not I eat foods like pizza. Of course I eat pizza! I love pizza! What I don't do is eat an entire stuffed crust and was it down with a six pack like I used to. It's all about portion control and moderation."
Season 11 (2011): Olivia Ward
Starting Weight: 261 lbs.
Ending Weight: 132 lbs.
Current Weight: 142 lbs.
This Mississippian opera singer competed alongside her sister in 2011. After snagging first and second place, the sisters became the official weight-loss gurus for Dr. Drew’s CW show, Lifechangers.
Olivia became a Soul Cycle instructor in 2013 saying how the classes keep her motivated and having fun: “It’s like dancing on a bike. If you put me on the dance floor I feel really weird but if you put me on a spin bike I feel like I’m Beyonce!”
She welcomed a son, Harper Ellis Ward, with husband Ben Ward in August 2015.
Season 12 (2011): John Rhode
Starting Weight: 445 lbs.
Ending Weight: 220 lbs.
Current Weight (as of 2012): between 225 and 230 lbs.
John attributes doing CrossFit training to his ability to maintain his finale weight. He now owns his own studio, True CrossFit. “It's total body fitness,” he’s said. “But what's cool for me is, my old stomping grounds is the deadlift, the squat, the clean and jerk — that was my forte when I was in my prime, and for me, I'm like, 'All right, I'm a little bit older, a little bit rusty, a little bit dusty, but let's get in there and have some fun.'"
Season 14 (2013): Danni Allen
Starting Weight: 258 lbs.
Ending Weight: 137 lbs.
Current Weight: close to winning weight
Danni won the season 14 crown and it looks like she’s been keeping strong at her finale weight. So what’s her secret? "I always carry water with me, 24/7, because that's a good little hunger curb," Danni shared with FitSugar. Well, that and staying active with her own brand new yoga and fitness studio in Illinois.
Season 15 (2014): Rachel Frederickson
Starting Weight: 260 lbs.
Ending Weight: 105 lbs.
Current Weight: 125 lbs.
Rachel's weight-loss was record-breaking in the 15 seasons of the NBC show, with the 24-year-old dropping a whopping 59.6 percent of her body weight. She experienced some backlash in the press, with many questioning whether she went too far with her weight loss. However, Rachel has since gained back around 20 pounds and is looking fantastic. As she told Us Weekly, “I think I'm at my perfect weight!”
