Blake Shelton: “Michelle Chamuel Was a Thorn in my Side” on The Voice 2013
Though fans and critics alike felt that Team Blake Shelton’s Danielle Bradbery had her win on The Voice Season 4 in the bag, Blake wasn’t so sure. He was up against new coach Usher and his determined pop rocker Michelle Chamuel, and he knew the competition was stiff.
“Michelle was a thorn in my side all along,” Blake admitted to Hollywood Life. “I am a fan, but as a coach, she was the enemy. She was the opposing team; she made it so hard because she is so talented. Thank God for Danielle’s God-given talent! Because she is the reason I am talking about winning, nothing special that I did!”
And though he wishes Michelle and Usher well, Blake says America definitely made the right decision.
“It was for the best,” he said. “Danielle is the person that America needs to hear. I am such a fan and so excited for her!”
While we agree that Danielle is more than deserving of her win, we’re not quite sure that America “needs” to hear her over Michelle. In fact, we think Michelle is one of the most inspirational contestants the show has ever seen.
