Blake Shelton Talks Touring: Will He Leave The Voice?
Though he’s never taken a season off from The Voice since it began in 2011, Blake Shelton has been one of the most vocal coaches about needing to spend time on his music career. The country crooner constantly complains about the show’s rigorous filming schedule getting in the way of touring and recording new music.
He recently spoke with Rolling Stone about his upcoming summer tour, and some of his comments made Voice fans a little nervous.
"I've been dying to get out there and actually tour," Blake said. "It's been since last winter since I had a tour, and man, that's too long. This is what I'm supposed to do. This is what I dreamed about when I was a kid — being able to go out on a big tour and connect with fans and celebrate the summer every night."
Does this mean that Blake is thinking of leaving The Voice? Well, we won’t have to worry about that for at least one more year. The “Boys ‘Round Here” singer has signed on to Seasons 5 and 6 of this show airing in fall 2013 and spring 2014.
Blake has said that when he chooses to step away from The Voice, he’ll do so for good, no hiatuses.
