Blake Shelton Wants to Do More For The Voice Contestants

Though he’s a goofball and booze lover on camera, The Voice’s favorite red-redneck, Blake Shelton, is a genuinely passionate artist who wants to help foster and nurture upcoming talent. Unfortunately, his hands are tied at a certain point.

Country Weekly recently spoke with the coach and he talked about his connection to contestants after the cameras stop rolling.

“I’m kind of professionally taken out of these artists’ lives and they move on with the record company and managers and stuff,” Blake said. “You kind of feel helpless at that point sometimes, and you want to see ’em take off.”

To his credit, Blake has done everything in his power to support some of his former artist. Season 2’s Gwen Sebastian is the singer’s full-time backup artist, Season 1’s Dia Frampton went on tour with him, Season 2’s RaeLynn has performed with Blake, Miranda Lambert, and her group The Pistol Annies, and he has supported Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope as she records her debut solo album.

“The only things that I can really do, and have done in the past, is take ’em out on tour with me and promote ’em in times like this right here when I’ve got microphones in front of me and then talk about ’em. That’s really all I have to offer,” he continued.

Personally, we think Blake goes above and beyond to lend his artists a helping hand. Do you think he does enough to contribute to their careers? Tell us below!
