Despite the persistent breakup rumors, country music power couple Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert constantly show us that, not only are they going strong, but they don’t take anything too seriously. Even when it comes to winning a Grammy Award –– which is no laughing matter to most artists –– Blake cracks a joke.

"The thing about an actual Grammy is if you set it up high enough on the shelf people can't read that plaque, and if somebody comes in the house and they're like, 'You got a Grammy.' It's like, 'Yeah. Oh yeah I got one.' And they don't actually read that it's to Miranda,” he said with a laugh during a recent interview in promotion of The Voice.

All joking aside, the singer would certainly appreciate having a shiny, golden gramophone in his home, saying, "I hope one of us wins that thing because I want one in my house for sure.”

While he hasn’t won a Grammy to date, it’s certainly within his grasp this year. His hit song “Mine Would Be You” is up for best country solo performance, and his eighth album, Based on a True Story…, has been nominated for best country album. In the latter category, his competition is fierce, as he’s up against Taylor Swift, who has four nominations, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, and relative country newbie Kacey Musgraves.

Although Miranda is surely hoping for the win as well, the “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer has already won the prestigious award in 2011 for her single, “The House That Built Me”.

Blake already seems to have that whole “It’s just an honor to be nominated” speech down pat, as he said in the interview, “It's just awesome to be included and thought of in that group of artists. This is a window of time that will go by quickly and I know that and I want to enjoy it."

When asked about fellow country artist Luke Bryan being snubbed this year, Blake let his sarcastic side fly.

Although he called Luke’s lack of Grammy nominations “surprising,” he went on to joke, “If I wasn't in there I'd be really upset, but since I'm in there I really don't give a crap about anybody else.”

Don’t Blake and Miranda seem like a couple who would be fun to get to know? Let us know what you think of them in the comments!
