We’re already bracing for a huge cliffhanger when Bones’s Season 7 finale airs on May 14 , and this most recent round of spoilers isn’t doing anything to help calm our fears!
David Boreanaz (Booth) has already made it clear that fans are “not going to be happy” with the ending, and many fans are speculating that the death of a major character might be to blame.
So, will someone actually get killed off? Or might the big cliffhanger be a marriage proposal from Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to Booth? Creator Hart Hanson made a point to remain as vague as possible, telling Entertainment Weekly simply that “we’re all happy with the cliffhanger we have.”
These things must be kept under wraps! “We couldn’t possibly tell you if someone you know and love were [going] to die in a horrible way,” Hart says. “And we are also not going to say Anthony Perkins does it in Psycho,” executive producer Stephen Nathan jokes.
Hold on a second. Anthony Perkins’ character IS the killer in Psycho. Is Stephen really implying that a beloved character WILL meet some sort of horrible and gruesome death? Look, this could just be a case of sarcasm not translating well on paper, but you can still consider us sufficiently freaked out.
TV Guide reports that when tech savvy supervillain Pellant (Andrew Leeds) returns for the season finale, he “will change the course of the series for a little bit. It’s going to put [Booth and Brennan] in a completely different situation than they’ve been in before professionally.”
Marriage proposal? Death? Honestly, we feel like it could go either way. For now, we’ll end with David Boreanaz’s foreboding PaleyFest quote, “I do know the season finale is going to be a How could that person do that? moment. You’re not going to be happy guys, I’m telling you right now.”
