Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to party! Bones is officially renewed for an eighth season. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly announced the news on March 29, and quickly proceeded to thank “the incredible BONES cast and crew” for how they have “redefined the traditional crime procedural with an irreverent and adventurous sensibility." Way to go, team!

Not that the news comes as a total surprise; executive producer Stephen Nathan already seemed confident enough on a Season 8 pickup, based on this new interview in Digital Spy.

Barely a day before the big Season 8 reveal, Stephen revealed one of the downsides of Season 7. “We weren’t able to give some of the other characters that we love — Hodgins [TJ Thyne] and Cam [Tamara Taylor] — more extensive arcs,” Nathan said, but “[w]e will be doing that if we get picked up.”

Wink wink, nudge nudge, right?  And then there’s even “Booth family stuff” to look forward to, as Nathan and fellow writer Hart Hanson plan to dig into Booth’s (David Boreanaz) relations with added gusto.

Luckily, Bones now has another full season to dig into all of these storylines as much as they like. We can’t wait to watch and see how it all plays out!
