David Boreanaz (Booth) has a lot to celebrate. On Monday, May 16, the Bones actor — who recently broke the happy news that Season 7 is a go — will turn 42 years young. And as if that isn’t enough, next month is Father’s Day. The proud papa of two — to Jaden, 9, and Bella, 1 — shared some of his favorite gifts from past Father’s Days with Family Circle magazine. “Jaden has made me some incredible cards, and [wife] Jaime once gave me a DVD of family photos set to music,” he revealed.
He refuses to let being on a hit show interfere with any of his real-life co-stars.
“I love bath time and putting the kids to bed,” he said. “I’m never too tired to get up and make them breakfast, and I drop Jaden at school every morning if I’m not on the set. Even if I only have 10 or 20 minutes to spare, I’m spending them with my kids.”
The rest of his free time is spent with his wife of 10 years (and Twitter coach), Jaime Bergman, with whom he’s had some very public ups and downs. Of their relationship, David said, “We realized we have a special bond and that’s the most important thing. We continue to move forward and have made Saturdays our official night to spend together, since it’s tough to connect during the week. It’s nice to have some time without the weight of the world on our shoulders.”
With such a full plate, he needs some guy time, right? Right. David looks no further than the local ice rink. “My idea of ‘me time’?” Getting on the ice and playing hockey,” spilled the Philly-bred skater. “When I’m out there I forget about everything and just have fun.”
That sounds like the David we know and love! (Note to selves: Scour ice rinks in the Los Angeles area, stat.)
