You would think when a blizzard causes the city’s lights to go out in last week’s episode of Bones, we would be spared the sight of the latest disgusting corpse du jour. But what do you think this is, American Idol? Though there is a lot to “ooh” and “ahh” at in “The Blackout in the Blizzard,” it unfortunately has nothing to do with the looks Booth (David Boreanaz) gives Brennan (Emily Deschanel). To find out which moments caused us to gasp out loud, see our top three picks from Season 6, Episode 16.

3. Blue is a good color on you
We know it was only blue dye that Hodgins (TJ Thyne) knocks all over squintern Wendell (Michael Grant Terry), but who knows what other lab-dwelling substances are actually in the blue goo. Bottom line: We sure as heck wouldn’t want it oozing down our face. And we’re pretty sure Wendell didn’t realize he’d look like a Smurf by day’s end.

2. So sore-y
Big is not always better. Just look at the gigantic sores that are all over the face of that Albanian guy who lands face down on Booth. They’re so big (and gross!) that people in space could have seen that he had a deadly disease. Bottom line: Eww.

1. Boiled body soup, anyone?
When Angela (Michaela Conlin) smells something cooking in the lab, we didn’t think it would be a chicken casserole — but we certainly weren’t expecting boiled body parts either. Poor pregnant Angela has to watch as Wendell grabs the skull by the hair and dunks it into the witches brew. Angela’s “Oh my god!” reaction sums up our feelings on the whole messy matter.
