After tonight’s long-awaited Bones Season 7 midseason premiere, TJ Thyne’s character won’t be the only daddy on the show. And when Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with T.J., who plays entomologist/conspiracy theorist Dr. Jack Hodgins, he wasn’t covering up how the baby is going to drastically change things around the lab.

The Booth (David Boreanaz)/Brennan (Emily Deschanel) baby won’t be lacking a buddy, as Jack and forensic artist wife Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin) are already raising their own baby boy, Michael, on the hit FOX series. Here’s T.J.’s take on how fans will meet the tiny newcomer:

What will we see when the show returns?
We know that Booth and Brennan are pregnant. And we come back in there, and she's far into her pregnancy. And then shortly thereafter, baby is born. And we get to meet baby, and that's very exciting for the team.

So they won’t just talk about it — the baby will actually exist on screen?

[Pause] You will get to see baby.

Will the new baby interact with little Michael?

Yes. There is a wonderful day care center at the Jeffersonian. So you get to see the babies interacting. There will be playdates and fun things.

Will Hodgins and Angela now be giving parenting advice?

Yeah. I think Hodgins and Angela are at a point where they're still young as parents. They're only a year in, and they're struggling themselves. But it's nice to think that there's someone else that's just at the starting line behind them — we're just a little bit further ahead. And so that's nice to kind of look back and be able to feed any advice that we can and help out. [But] Brennan knows everything. So she'll know how to be the best Mom. And you know Booth. He’s like, “can I please just help?” Jack and Angela are just laughing through it and having a good time.

How will Booth and Brennan change with the new arrival?

Imagine Booth and Brennan together at work, just at home — with baby vomit on them instead of blood from victims. It's the same kind of great chemistry between those two, that dichotomy of that which is Booth and Brennan.
