Only one more week until Season 6 returns! To occupy ourselves during these final few days of the long, Bones-less drought, Wetpaint caught up with David Boreanaz (Booth) at the winter 2011 TCAs. The sexy Bones stud dished on Booth's love life, the sniper, and an upcoming emotional scene. Of course, his teasers only made us salivate for more!

Booth has had a tumultuous season so far, and it's only going to get more intense with the introduction of the sniper in the season's 11th episode. "There's a small arc there, and it's from Booth's past," David said. "There's a tipping point that's coming in after two episodes, three episodes in after we premier back. Booth has just had it. He just — you know, it's a little darker side of him."

Of course, the Booth and Hannah vs. Booth and Brennan drama hasn't helped things. "[Fans] want to see [Booth and Brennan] together. I mean, I think we are together. We're just not together the way some people would like to see us together," David explained. "Obviously, it's been interesting to have this Hannah character come in between the two of them. And how he's handling that and what he's going to do with that and how it affects his relationship with her. And how she poured her guts out to him, and he was like, 'Well, I've already moved on.' [...] It's going to affect him now in the next two months."

So, how does David prepare for his particularly emotional scenes? "There was one I just kind of went through with Booth and Hannah and figuring out what he's going to do with her. And now what he's going to do with Bones. And there was an emotional and vulnerable scene I shot. Everybody's like, 'Are you ready for your big scene?' I'm like, 'It's not really a big scene.' So it worked out in my favor that emotions just kind of came out. I think when you don't fight it and let it happen, that's when the magic happens."

David has always had some measure of say in his character's arc, thanks to producer Hart Hanson's hands-on style. "I've always sat down with Hart and kind of established where the character's going to be going right from the get go," he dished. "Even from the pilot on. [...] When it comes down to it we'll always have conversations with Hart. He's like that. He's the type of show runner who loves your input. So we're always there throwing ideas back and forth."

That formula has worked wonders so far, and we can't wait to see what "magic" the second half of Season 6 has in store!
