Yesterday’s Bones Paleyfest panel sure unloaded a lot of sweet info for fans — as it well should have, considering that both of the show’s creators and its two most prominent actors were there to dish!

But one thing in particular that caught our ear was the executive producers’ prognosis for future episodes.  And no, we’re not talking about the bonus installments to be tacked on to Season 7 — we’re talking about full-on bonus seasons.

Longtime readers might be rolling their eyes; after all, we’ve reported before on Bones creator Hart Hanson’s expectations for a Season 8.  But last night, Hanson doubled down and said in no uncertain terms that he’s putting his money on a Season 9 as well.

As Hanson put it, via Deadline, “I hate to say this [standard Canadian politeness!], [but] in many ways, Bones is Fox’s most successful hour-long drama.  I’m pretty confident that we’ll be back for Seasons 8 and 9, yeah.”  So confident is he, in fact, that the Bones folks intend to end the current Season 7 on a nail-biting cliffhanger.  The Bones board room is doubtless teeming with ways to torture us at the end of the next season, too!

So in light of all this exciting news, we just have to ask: can we anticipate a full decade of Bones?!  We doubt that even Hart Hanson would attest to such a thing at this point in time, but we can’t see any reason not to keep our fingers tightly crossed!
