When it comes to renewing Bones — one of Fox’s highest-rated shows — for a seventh season, we’re not sure what the network could possibly be waiting for. A Yeti sighting? An apology from Vincent the squintern (Ryan Cartwright)?

The forensic drama still hasn’t gotten the thumbs up for a new season — and they’re not alone. Fox’s other veteran hit series, House, is also waiting on news of its fate. According to Deadline, both shows have been pulling in solid numbers all season long, with no other dramas on the network coming close. Pulling the plug on either of them would be bad business for Fox.

Another reason we’re confident that Season 6 won’t be Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan’s (Emily Deschanel) last? Fans have yet to see the will-they, won’t-they couple take the leap, and Hart Hanson has promised some resolution to the show's central ‘ship before it gets cancelled. Other Season 7 storylines we’d love to see play out: How Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins (TJ Thyne) handle the newest addition to the Bones family; where Cam’s (Tamara Taylor) new relationship with Dr. Paul (Elon Gold) is headed; and whether Sweets (John Francis Daley) will end up marrying his longtime girlfriend, Daisy (Carla Gallo).

How can Fox not say yes to Bones?
