This week's episode of Bones had us stroking out beards in WTF-horror. And yes, we've grown a beard in honor of Hodgins (TJ Thyne). If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. And speaking of Hodgins, his certifiably insane antics during this week's episode are the reason for our existence. Check out the biggest WTF moments from the episode!
1. Hodgins Becomes A Lidocaine Addict
Annnnd, we're officially in crisis. We've known Hodgins was a deranged maggot fanatic for a while now, but his crazy facial hair has officially taken over his mind. Yep, he's a drug addict. This week Hodge Podge decided it was necessary to snort a bunch of lidocaine (for science, mmmk?), and we're worried. Lord knows it's only a matter of time before he starts huffing dried maggot eggs.
2. Hodgins Slices Out A Piece Of Angela's Lung
Angela (Michaela Conlin) casually mentioned that Hodgins had cut out a piece of her lung for biopsy, and it's just like, when? And more importantly where? Unless Hodgins moonlights as a surgeon, we're pretty sure he isn't qualified to slice up Angela's lungs, not to mention the fact that the procedure apparently took place in Hodgins' lidocaine lab. Angie was literally flouncing around in her adorable Anthropologie dress two minutes later.
3. Um... Didn't The Jeffersonian Just Lose Most of Its Funding?
No one at The Jeffersonian seems concerned about the fate of their lab, but doesn't half their funding come from Hodgins' family trust? And wasn't said trust just drained? We expect Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her nerd squad to be wandering around Washington like homeless bone-obsessed grifters any day now. Who knows, maybe they can put together a makeshift lab in Baby Christine's nursery. That wouldn't scar her for life or anything.
4. Drones Are Super Easy To Destroy
First of all, the computer program Angela used to hack into Pelant's drone was straight out of 1990. We're pretty sure that thing ran on Geocities. But the best part? Angela caused the drone to self-destruct not by entering a series of complicated codes, but simply by typing "SELF-DESTRUCT" into her keypad with a hilarious green font. Whatever, don't even question. Just accept it and move on, much like we've learned to accept Hodgins' flared jeans.
5. Pelant Performs Surgery On Himself....At A Veterinarian's Office
Look, we know Pelant is a super genius, but half his face was blown off. We can't even imagine how much this nerdy little dude must have been bleeding, and we're pretty sure a vet's office wasn't the best place to fix his problem. Maybe he should have hijacked, you know, a doctor's office? With actual medical supplies that aren't made of rawhide? Just a thought.
